Novosibirsk region is a part of Siberian Federal District. The administrative centre of the Novosibirsk Region is Novosibirsk city, which is at the same time the administrative center of Siberian Federal District. The date of the Novosibirsk Region establishment is September 28th, 1937.

The total gross regional product of the Novosibirsk Region was about ₽1055 bln in 2016. Economic growth is achieved by business facilitation, increase in business activity, social, transport and engineering infrastructure development.

The Novosibirsk Region is one of the largest centers of the Russian Federation, it has been maintaining leadership in the field of science and technology for more than 50 years.

Educational complex of the region is the largest in the Asian part of Russia.
